5 Ways to Make your Bedroom a Sanctuary

- Rip Technologies LLC

Many of us rely on our bedrooms as a place to unwind and relax after a long day. It’s where we end each day and begin the next. Therefore, it should reflect who we are and foster a comforting environment. You’re probably wondering, “How do I do that?” Below we have some tips on how to make your bedroom your own personal sanctuary.

1. Strategically select prints

When selecting prints for your room, it’s important to think about what will match your space and the aesthetic you’re trying to achieve. If you’re going for a calming environment, we recommend you opt for neutral prints. Whereas, if you want a bit more color in your space, we recommend some of our brighter prints. Take your time when choosing a print and make sure it will fit the vibe of your space!

2. Value good lighting

Lighting plays a large role in determining the vibe of your bedroom. While you can rely on natural lighting during the day, at night it’s important to have supplemental lighting that isn’t too overpowering. We recommend stringing fairy lights along your bed or walls for a softer light. Another option is to have small lamps instead of overhead lighting. Trendy lamps include lava lamps, himalayan salt lamps, and even star projectors.

3. Utilize scents

Scents are extremely powerful and promote relaxation. Two of the main ways you can diffuse scents in your room are either from a candle or an essential oil diffuser. Some of the best fragrances that promote relaxation are lavender, rose, lemon, chamomile, and bergamot orange. Candles can easily be found at your local drug store and there are many oil diffusers sold on Amazon. If you choose to burn a candle, be sure to blow it out before you go to bed or leave your room!

4. Invest in a soft rug

A cozy way to bring texture into your space is by adding a rug. Specifically, soft rugs are great when trying to make your room warm and comfortable. You can put a rug anywhere on the floor, but for optimal use place it near a chair or next to your bed. Most fluffy rugs come in various colors, so be sure to find a rug that will match the colors in your room.

5. Purchase plants

Last but not least, plants are extremely transformational for any space. Houseplants are trendy and bring life into your room. According to NASA’s Earth Science Study, when trees and plants “sweat,” they cool themselves and the surrounding air. Not only are plants aesthetically pleasing, but they’re also beneficial for your wellbeing.
