Due to the pandemic, the amount of remote workers has significantly increased. When working from home, it can be easy to blend your work life with your personal life, which is why it’s so important to create a home office. The environment in which you work is vital to your success and too much clutter can result in chaos. If you’re in need of a new WFH set-up, or simply want to spruce up your space, keep reading!

1. Stick to a monochromatic color scheme

The first tip we have is to stick to a monochromatic color scheme. Monochromatic color schemes communicate a sense of professionalism and crispness which will help put you in the mindset to be productive. A clean and professional space will also look good on Zoom and communicate to your co-workers that you’re prepared and ready to work.

2. Create a gallery wall

Gallery walls elevate any space and are a great way to add a subtle pop of color to your office space. When creating a gallery wall, we recommend mixing the sizes of your prints and planning beforehand which prints you will place next to each other. As stated above, monochromatic color schemes exude a sense of professionalism and elegance. However, you can make your space more interesting with some prints that also fit into that color scheme.

3. Invest in a high quality office chair

For those of you who work a desk job, owning a high quality office chair will make your life so much easier. It’s important to be comfortable and supported when completing your work so that you aren’t distracted by back, arm, or neck pain. If you don’t have the room in your budget to purchase a new office chair, a more affordable option is to use a seat cushion!

4. Brighten your workspace

Having good lighting in your office is vital to success. If the lighting is too dim, it’s likely you will put strain on your eyes and potentially feel tired. Consider positioning your desk next to a window for the most natural light. If you work in the evening and don’t have access to natural light, we recommend investing in desk lamps as well as overhead lighting. Desk lamps can easily be found on Amazon as well as in most home decor stores.

5. Organize your space

Finally, decluttering and organizing your space will set you up for success. Clutter can negatively impact your productivity levels and focus, which makes it so important to maintain a clean workspace. Although cleaning can be a pain, you will feel so much better afterwards.
